Yesterday was a pretty big day for Apple, as they announced a complete overhaul of their popular iPod lineup to coincide with the back-to-school season (and well ahead of the upcoming holiday spend-a-thon). And yes, they did unveil a phoneless-iPhone.
Apple basically let loose a avalanche of consumer goodness, with three entirely new iPod models (new Nano, new Classic, and the aforementioned and must-have device of the decade, the WiFi-enabled iPod Touch), a color refresh of the shuffle, the launch of the iTunes WiFi Music Store, iPhone ringtones and a $200 price cut (to the dismay of all the suckers who stood in line for an iPhone just a few months ago), and a partnership with Starbucks that will integrate the coffee-shop's in-house music stream with the new iTunes WiFi Music Store, allowing iPhone and touch users to purchase and download the 10 most recent songs playing in the store on demand.
So basically Apple is going to make a bazillion dollars this year. Bet you wish you had bought stock back in the nineties.
